Licensing & Copyright

All Boom Kitty songs are under an All Rights Reserved license. Below is an outline of these songs and how they can be licensed. Restricted songs cannot be licensed. Songs are split into levels, each with their own price.

Licensing for YouTube:

  • Non-monetised videos: If you are not concerned about YouTube monetization, then you may use any level 1, 2, or 3 song(s) on Youtube, free of charge.
  • Monetised videos: Licences are granted case-by-case based on channel size and how transformative the content is. Upon purchase, your video will be whitelisted, allowing it to be monetised. To purchase a licence, please contact us below with the link to your video. Licences can be granted before or after uploading the video.
  • Copyright Claims: You may receive a Content ID copyright claim on videos using Boom Kitty's music. This is not the same as a copyright strike and will not affect your video’s visibility or your channel in any way. The only effect is that the video cannot be monetised. Do not dispute the claim unless you hold a valid licence.
  • Credit: All usage of Boom Kitty's music on YouTube requires crediting in the video description as: Boom Kitty - Song Name

Licensing for Video Games:

  • If your company’s revenue in the last year OR total development budget for your game exceeds $100,000 USD, then the pricing below does not apply and you must contact us to discuss pricing. These prices are for smaller developers and we charge more for larger games.

    • Level 1 songs: The first song you license is free, all further songs each cost $50 USD.

    • Level 2 songs: The first song you license will cost $50 USD, all further songs each cost $100 USD.

    • Level 3 songs: The first song you license will cost $100 USD, all further songs each cost $150 USD.

  • The license will apply to one game.

  • You must credit Boom Kitty in the game with a list of songs used that shows “Boom Kitty” and the song name clearly. (i.e. “Boom Kitty - Badland”). If you can include a link to Boom Kitty’s YouTube channel then that’s a bonus, but not required.

  • If using a song in promotional videos (i.e. a YouTube trailer) then include a credit (i.e. “Boom Kitty - Badland”) and link to Boom Kitty’s YouTube channel in the video description.
